About Mary Melcher N13466 CTH T Mary and Terry Melcher are two close sisters who grew up together in Chicago, Illinois. Mary, the artists/illustrator has been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil. After high school, she attended the American Academy of Art, Chicago. She has been illustrating greeting cards for Recycled Paper Greetings, Inc. for the past 22 years. Mary has also been illustrating children's books for the publishers Simon & Schuster, Scholastic and Kidsbooks for 12 years. Teri was inspired with the idea of using some of Mary's original artwork from the volumns of images that have accumulated over the years, and to reproduce them in the form of embellished, decorative wooden wall plaques. She then adds the special touch of a hand stamped saying, or can personalize the plaque with the name of a child or loved one. These charming wooden plaques make attractive, affordable gifts for any occasion. The personalized plaques make perfect gifts for a child's room, a baby gift, a wedding present, or any other occasion that requires a special touch.
