Mary Singleton's paintings bring us into an idealistic vision of the world...how it could be, filled with details and vivid colors of everyday life in simpler times and friendly old fashioned places.
Rich with detail each painting sings to a theme. Mary spins her magic to create scenes with characters adorned in delightful and charming outfits with animals, Victorian houses, humble farm houses and the disappearing Wisconsin barn.
Her paintings are atmospheric, filled with life and light from all of the seasons. The light of a warm breezy summer day in Fireman's Park or a nippy October night in Halloween to a snowy moon lit landscape with skaters having fun in Farm Pond. Spring is in the air in The Tree House.
Mary Singleton's other works include large scenic murals of Germany including Lichtenstein Castle and the majestic Rhine water way for the Dorf House in Roxbury, and the Heilemann Brewery in Lacrosse Wisconsin. Mary has also created a large mural at the Mauston Hospital with buildings from old Mauston and her work may be seen at Target Bluff Restaurant in Camp Douglas.
