Buena Vista Overlook

Park Buena Vista Park is open year around. It is 500 feet above Alma. The scenic overlook includes the views of the City of Alma, Miles of the Mississippi River, back waters, islands and Lock and Dam #4. It has restrooms, picnic area, shelter and large parking area. Walking trail from 2nd street up to Buena Vista Park. Free admission.
Take county road E off of Hwy 35 No, southend of downtown Alma.

BUENA VISTA PARK

Rieck's Lake Park Wildlife Platform

Alma, WI 608-685-3330

Rieck's Lake Park becomes the resting and feeding station for hundreds of Tundra Swans between mid October and mid November. The park also has an observation platform which is staffed during this Swan Watch period. The platform also has mounted scopes and interpretive panels all year long. This area also has bald eagles, egrets, herons, several kinds of ducks all within close viewing and great for photography. The park also has restrooms and camping. Radio AM1620 only within park. Free admission. .
Two miles north of Alma on Hwy 35.

Tiffany Wildlife Area

608-685-6222 - Hwy 25 and Hwy 35 North of Nelson, WI

Tiffany Wildlife Area offers 12,500 acres of free rustic walking trails, fourteen public boat launching ramps on Hwy 25 at Hwy 35 just north of Nelson. Hunting, fishing, trapping, nature photography, birding and wild berry picking are popular activities. Motor vehicles are not allowed anywhere in the wildlife area. Primitive camping is allowed by permit only. Camping permits are available at the DNR office in Alma. Contact: DNR 608-685-6222. Open year around. Free admission.

Merrick State Park

Located along the lazy Mississippi River north of Fountain City. Located between stately 500-foot bluffs and the lazy Mississippi River north of Fountain City. River waters are a haven for summer and winter anglers. The marshy back waters are home for egrets, herons, muskrats and otters Enjoy fishing from or docking your boat at your campsite. Perrot State Park

Perrot State Parks 1,243 acres are nestled among 500-foot bluffs where the Trempealeau and Mississippi Rivers meet. Enjoy Bradys Bluff Natural Area and breathtaking river views. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the parks Nature Center and weekend programs highlight the natural, archaeological and historical resources at Perrot. Hike 13 miles of trails which offer a variety of experiences and levels of difficulty. There is direct access for bicyclists from the campground to the 24-mile Great River State Trail as well as excellent road biking in the area. There is a marked canoe trail and canoes can be rented at the park. Perrot State Park is adjacent to the Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge.
